It's the middle part that will disappear when the circuit is overdrawn on power. So I say it's fine. The only way to be sure is to put a multimeter on it with the continuity or diode checker function and touch either MM lead to either of the fuse blades together at the same time. No beep means it's a blown fuse.

You gotta get an OBD scanner on the car to initiate a fan test because removing and taking apart a CCRM is probably above you right now.
for sure, we'll get there one day :) What am I looking for in the fan test? what does it mean If it turns on? what about if it stays off? Sorry for all the questions, i just figure i'd ask them all at once instead of drip feeding them

If the scanner successfully commands the fan on, then you can safely drive the car in my opinion. About the only thing that could make it 100% bulletproof is unscrewing the temp sensor and dunking it in bubbling hot water and turning the key on (engine off) and seeing if the fan spins.

well thats good to hear. Would just replacing the temp sensor be an option too?

Do you have a scanner that can datalog? There are some good apps out there if you buy an elm327 dongle.
I was going to use my friends but he never got around to coming out. I'll have to look into getting my own. Still building my toolkit. I got the fan to run through wires straight to the fan from the battery, which got them spinning, both low and high speed. So now I should try replacing the coolant temperature sensor?

I mean the sensor is pretty cheap so it's not a real loss even if the one already in the car is still good. Go ahead, I say.

But there's also a real possibility that the CCRM is defucktive. I say this because of what you said earlier, that the high speed fan doesn't come on with A/C activation.

Thanks for communicating that. ill swap the coolant sensor tomorrow, if it's not working, I'll order a replacement CCRM. Thank you very much for all your help. Hope you get some rest tonight man.

Get the dongle I suggested in my last post and download Forscan lite on your phone. It’s a great app and has tons of features.

As far as the issue, I’m thinking ccrm as well. You can try to de-solder and install a new relay but it’s easier to just buy a new one. Besides, you can hang onto the old one and fix it in the meantime as a spare.

Went to LMR and got one yesterday. I had the money and figured I might as well start replacing bits and bobs, even if the coolant sensor fixes it, which I doubt it will. The high speed fan not turning on seems like a pretty big clue I now see thanks to y'all. So it's on the way. Hopefully, I get it, plug it in, and everything is happy. I will continue to thank everyone for their help. I would be so stuck without y'all. Thank you. Will update when everything is together and coexisting.

I also looked into forscan, it seems amazing. Seems like a great place to start understanding and using diagnostic tools. Thanks for telling me about it!
