I hated the way my 2000 gt handled.. so my first mod to the car was Eibach Sportlines...
It didn't help with handling at all... when I am taking a turn, the car still feels like I went back in time and am driving my 1980 Jeep... "SLOPPY" would be an understatement...
But the most disappointing part about this is that the bouncing is simply unbearable. The ride is only comparable to a 1988 Civic lowered on $40 Ebay springs (yes I've driven one) I never in million years expected such terrible ride quality from Eibach.

I was planning on putting more money into the suspension and using only quality parts... But the ride and handling are so incredibly awful right now that I think it would be idiotic to put any more money into it...

This car is a 50K mile one owner Mustang that is 99% stock... yet it produces so many noises when you go over a bump or shift... that it just makes me want to get rid of it..

It was nice to look at Mustangs and listen to the pretty noises they make.. but owning one is a completely different story. I dislike this car more and more every time I drive it.. Why Ford put such a nice engine in such an awful car I don't understand.

I think it was definitely a big mistake buying a car only because I like the way it sounds.

Personally I think you just need to swap the springs out. I don't recommend the sportlines to anyone personally. the eibach pro kit, h&r super sports or race springs are the only ones I like.

Just keep in mind that mustangs aren't meant to drive like a luxury car... Also if you just changed springs you're gonna have problems since the stock shocks and struts are not meant for a lowered car.

As well as this, when you say sloppy, do you mean the steering input is weak or what?

With some time, money, and TLC you can fix all of the noises and have a nice ride quality. It's not the end of the world. Mustangs unfortunately are notorious for random sqeeks. My 01 Bullitt has little noises that irritate the sh!t out of me but it isn't worth selling. I know that I just have to take my time and slowly work out the kinks.

I understand the rant because someones people just need to vent. But don't give up on it. You can fix it, and you can have the ride quality you're looking for.

Also to add to what MadStang said, also when lowering, invest in some C&C plates ontop of the upgraded shocks/struts. It will be worth it in the long run.

First thing you went with Sportlines then never changed your shocks or struts. That's a big problem. The factory struts are not designed to work on a lowered mustang. I think if you got a new set of shocks and struts i think you would be very suprised at how much better it was.

So wait you bought a car just b/c of the sound?

Agreed on the struts and shocks. Although i think Eibach Sportlines are a good spring.

I personally didn't like the feel of them, but, they are a good street spring, I'm just more inclined for the best handling vs. the springs that slam me to the ground.

Yeah I'll go ahead and agree with Win, you dropped your car 2" on 10 year old struts and are surprised the car rides rough? Come on now. I can't speak for the other noises you're hearing since I haven't heard them myself but struts/shocks would be a great place to start to improve your ride. I'm personally an H&R fan as i feel their spring quality is superior to Eibach.

I'm guessing you've never been in a Camaro. And honestly this might be a little harsh but yes you're stupid for buying a car just because you like how it sounds.

I personally like the H&R Race Springs. I have Jamex Sport springs that are almost identical to Sportlines. I want to raise my car back up a little so i can have a easier time here with the streets and also being able to get into my driveway.

I want to lower my car a touch more, I wonder if anyone is ever happy with their stance lol

HAHA I agree it's like a game that we can never win. I am never happy with my car. I will have to say everyone that loves to slam a car come here and drive on the roads you will want to get a softer spring and shock setup.

everyone calls me a retarded because I'm going coilover and I don't want to slam it down haha. I'm going a little lower but nothing that's gonna make me have to creep over everything.

I was told that eitbach is a rough ride.

my pro-kit rode nicely but I had it on with KYB AGX shocks and struts. the v6 was nice on the street, perfect on the track.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the support. Yes I needed to vent. Yes I will replace the stock shocks which should help. Although the ride is rough I just couldn't sell this car, it sounds and looks too good...
It is making a couple of noises, but you guys are right I can fix them, it needs a new release bearing and the exhaust is hitting something when I go over bumps which are all things I can fix just gotta find the time.

Let me tell you, these cars ride smooth as silk....on a smooth road, lol. With a stiffer spring there's gonna be discomfort. And without changing out your shocks and struts and c/c plates you're gonna bounce pretty good on any bump.

If you want a luxury ride, you gotta get a luxury car. ;)

That being said, they sure do sound good!
