Hey guys, I'm kinda wondering...

If i was to go with a vortec s trim on a stock PI motor with blower cams how much would you think i would make... just saying around 9psi...

The reason i'm asking is that from numbers i'm seeing all over the "net" is that with the stock pi motor and blower cams the 2v and 4v make around the same power with the 2v having more tq.

I was thinking of putting in a b headed 4v into the car but if i can get to the same power level with a PI motor with cams or maybe even a little port work and cams... wouldn't that be the way to go? Just throwing this out there... opinions please.

blower cams + stock pi motor + S trim, I would say on a conservative tune ~400rwhp shouldn't be a problem. That would obviously be with all the supporting mods for the blower...

thanks for your insight. Now i wonder how much a stock cobra motor would make with an strim at the same boost. I'm probably leaning to the pi motor with blower cams b/c it shouldn't be as hard to work on and $$$ for parts...

ive always been partial to 2Vs for somerason. I think its the challenge of getting power out of them.

I have no clue what levels you would be at.

425rwhp/425rwtq on safe tune....and cheaper and easier then the 4 valve swap + blower.
Get yourself a forged shortblock and crank up the boost to 12-15psi and easily be in the 500rwhp area.

yeah you should have no problem being in the 430ishrwhp range. I'll be at 400rwhp, 400tq and thats through stock non pi heads, regular old PI cams and an auto.

u could possibly be around 425rwhp/rwtq if not more w/ the s/c cams...if u dont want to spend money on a forged shortblock, u can go find a explorer motor and go that route, its also aluminum

I'm making 410 with stock cams and 11lbs w/ I/C and custom tune. You be in the 400 range no doubt. You'll may be tuning it back for safety.

the explorer block is aluminum while the GT block is iron, saves some pounds up front, i think the internals r the same

o ok, well thats cool. I found some rods for like 3XX ish and i've seen pistons for around 4/500 so... wonder if the motor can take it without all that... with just like a stock set up... like JMS i think the "velocity" kit... wonder if thats to much for a stock motor.
