well i start a job tomorrow, so i can start modding my car lol, im tired of stock. but heres the thing. its been sittin there for a few months, and wont start. i would take it out and drive occasionally. but now it wont start. when i turn the key i hear the starter click, but no rotate. i know its not the battery, its new, terminals are clean, and i tried jump starting to make sure. now im stuck i have no clue what it is, or how to fix it. anyone with any help, id apreciate greatly. i dont know if it matters, but its a 94 gt convertible auto.

Check your grounds for tightness and corrosion as well as the positive wire going to the starter

check the ground to the block. If corroded it can cause this. I had mine corroded at the block. Cleaned it up and away I went. I actually used the jumper cable to go from the negative battery terminal to a bolt on the block to check this before digging for the ground underneath.

Even with a jump if the batt is really bad it will still not start. Yank the batt out and take it up and get it tested.

i really dont think its the battery. i mean, the radio will still turn on, the windows go up and down (except the rear drivers side window, but i think thats its own problem i been havin since i bought the car). is it possible the battery has enough to power the radio but not start the car???

yes, take the battery to get load tested. radio is drawing MilliAmps, the car starting its pulling 100s of amps

yes the radio can still work with a drained battery and the car won't start. Sounds to me like that battery.

ok so i took it to autozone for the free testing. they said its 60% charged, and it needs a recharge. so i took em up on the free recharge. now before i go back, get it, hook it up, etc. is that 40% missing enough to not allow my car to start?

Do you have a voltmeter? If so, MEASURE the voltage yourself and never trust a minimum wage employee at the parts store. It COULD possibly be the starter.

so..... got the trusted family mechanic out, it had somethin to do with the security system. and since i dont have the original keys, or the remote, the alarm stays on? like the siren doesnt go off, but the red light flashes till i put the key in the ignition, press the disengage button, then it starts. either way, im happy at least it starts now
