Just looking to get suggestions/comments from you guys on my potential setup. Will be ordering parts in a few weeks. I plan on putting just shy of 400 hp to the ground daily driven. I'll be at the track regularly. The 400 # is in the distant future and a realistic number for the coming months and until that point is around 290-300 at the wheels. I'm looking into Superior 28 spline carbon steel hardened axles, FRPP carbon disc carrier rebuild, FRPP 3.73's or Richmond 3.90's (still in the air), and a Motive master bearing kit. I know there is a big debate over 28 or 31 spline axles when compared to specific power levels, but i've put this little GT through the ropes for the little time i've had it and the stock stuff is holding up fine. So i'm not concerned with the street manners. What do you guys think of this particular axle setup for the said power levels at the track? I'll be launching the car hard on 28x10.5 15's. I'm trying to spend wisely and not over budget with 31's and a new carrier which I don't think I need. Any input appreciated.

Normally I would think that 28 spline would be okay, but if your gonna be on slicks then I would probably put the 31 spline axle/carrrier in. Instead of buying parts for the 28 then blowing it and still having to get 31 spline equipment anyway. Always better to spend once in the long run.... But I have no experience personally so don't go solely off of my opinion lol

Everything looks good..the only thing I would say do the 31 spline. Do it once, do it right.

You can use a Ford Racing 31 spline differential and if I remember its only around $250

I bought a new 31 spline rear axle and half shafts from Summit for the very reason above, do it right first time, though i'm nowhere near 400hp a blower could soon alter that.

Slicks. Hmm, yeah the 31 spline axles aren't much more than the 28's so I guess you guys are right. I just hate having to buy a brand new 31 spline trac loc rather than rebuild the old 28. :BangHead:

Trying not to even think about that right now, but most definitely I agree 100%. Hoping for a "Wednesday Built" T5.
