My older brother has taken a ranger rearend and shoved it up under his stang. I have had the opportunity to get a ford econoline rearend for really really cheap. is it possible to use this in my mustang?? here are some pics of it. the tog on the rear end says 355 so this would be perfect if i could use it.

My brother had his 1 1/2 in longer and he didn't have to run spacers. Would it be possible to just take like the gear box out and trade it with mine?

it is damn near impossible to remove a carrier from one rearend and have them mesh well in another rearend.

if you want 3.55 gears on the cheap, go find a 86-88 ford thunderbird turbocoupe manual, and it will have 3.55's, throw yours axles/brakes onto it and call it done. The automatics have 3.73's. It's usually $90 for a rearend complete from the JY, I have a 3.55 turbocoupe rearend with 4 lug disc brakes in my `91.
