Looking for the best way of removing sound deadening material so I can install my upper and lower torque box reinforcements and my roll bar. It's a 20yr old car so the stuff is really stuck good lol.

I had to use a few different methods to get the sound deadening out of my Fox. I made a video about it that shows the tools and tricks I used. You might find it helpful.

I used a 1/2" flat chisel. Very sharp
Then a small wire wheel in a die grinder to clean up the areas I welded

his chipped off easier than I have seen most people talk about that did it. I have heard that dry ice is great to make it easier

Some of the sound deadening in my car was very easy to remove. But, as you can see later in the video, some of the sound deadening was very hard to remove. Based on what I heard from other people, and what I experienced, the level of difficulty will vary from car to car and panel to panel.

I've seen others use a torch and scraper as well.
