removing th smog pump

i want to remove my smog pump but im wondering if i do will the check engine light be on, id hate to drive with that thing on my dash, let me know if any of ya have remove the whole setup, and if it was worth the work

removing the smog pump will NOT throw the check engine light. Just make sure you cap up all the loose ends for good measure.

I removed it all on my Cobra and ran a short belt, much cleaner.

yes i did the same thing. been so long i can remember the size though.

yes i did it all myself. I can't remember the belt size either but i did measure it with a string and then just add like 2" or so to the length. I ended up buying 3 belts and returned the 2 i didn't need.


I think you need two 5/8 course bolts for the back of the heads too, or some plugs to fill the smog tube holes.

i cut the flanges off the smog tubes and flipped them around and bolted them back in
