Well Im not to familiar with anything paint or body, so I figured I'd ask yall. My clear coat on my driver side fender and on my hood is peeling up extremely bad along with the paint on my roof going to complete hell and oxidizing. I plan on getting a cobra r hood here in the near future so I am not to worried about the hood as ill just have the new one painted to match but as far as the hood and roof go. Would it be better to have the fender and roof redone or would I be better off just having the whole car resprayed. The last thing im worried about is the price of dfg. Is it an expensive paint?

If your fender and roof are in that bad of shape...then it most likely means your entire car is going to be faded. A body shop will never be able to match the paint perfectly.

My 97 was DFG...its not exactly cheap, cause its a unique blend of color.

It is an all over, if you tried to touch that up it would look like Fido's ass. Start getting some prices and set a goal. you can save some money by taking of shit like the antenna, emblems, lights and what not before hand. Around here it would cost around 2 grand.

Well looks like a repaint may be in the near future. My boss at the wheel and tire shop said he can have his body guys at his body shop do a complete repaint with prep for 1200 as long I take all the trim etc. off. He basically said the same thing you all have said, a touch up would look like complete ass.

Good luck to you with that. Don't forget to update/remind us of the work with before & after pics. All I can suggest is to talk to vendors, insurance companies, dealers, and find a special shop because it is worth it. I have taken my car to the very busiest shop in area thinking that the quality must be decent, but nooooo, looked like pooooo. Good luck & what color would you paint it if you could do it today??

Lol, paint it with house paint. My uncle put stripes on the side of a van with a rolller before. I don't remember it but everyone always tells me the story. Had runs and all.

Repaint all day. DFG is very unique color because it has blue and green mixed into it. I never really seen a green like it to tell you the truth. The more I think it about...in theory if you know what teal looks like, DFG would be the dark version of teal since teal is blue/green mix.

Thank you sir! I will be sure to keep everyone updated with before and after pics. There is no question Ill be going with DFG, I love this color when its fresh! Me and my lady are expecting a baby girl to pop out soon so it may be a few months before I actually have this done.
