My A/C worked on 2000 GT when I got it, and about a day later is didn't work? (Now that I think about it, I think that they just filled it when I test drove it, and it just leaked out :angry4:) I thought maybe it was just low or something? When I went to fill it, there was a slow leak out of my Low pressure side, coming from the valve? Now the genius' at Autozone don't have it, and neither does the dealership. The dealership was trying to sell me the whole line, but I know that I don't need the whole line. My question is where would I go to get a new one? And what is the best way to replace it?

Thanks,
Ryan

I rebuilt my A/c system a year ago, completely. Best thing I've ever done for the car (DD). You can buy the valve at the dealership. That's the ONLY place they sell it, not online, rock auto, nothing-notta only there. I was pissed when I couldn't find one.

My stealership charged 14 bucks, but it was worth it. There is a rubber ball like deal that rots on the inside causing it to leak.

Get some channel locks and twist very carefully, the line will bend and snap. lefty loosy law.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but any information (write ups, resources you used) you can provide on rebuilding the AC would be nice. I'm contemplating that same undertaking.

Your going to need to go to rock auto and buy a compressor, drier, and line with the orifice tube pre-installed.

My compressor had failed so those where the main parts I bought. They were all Four Seasons brand.

Basically get a Haynes manual and go from there. When its time to get your system vacuumed you can have a shop do it or you can rent one ( or buy, your preference).
