I was quarter to empty. Look up who can do corner-weight balancing in your area. Usually any shop that preps cars for road racing will be able to do something like this. It's kind of a waste of money if you can't adjust anything though, so coilovers, or adjustable spring perches are highly recommended.

well, i'd just do it because i'm curious. lol. im not an auto-x fan (have to learn to get the stright line figured out first. lol), so it would be just for fun.

What's funny is that I've examined the rag joint many times on the car itself, and it never looked cracked. Today I was changing the motor mount, and I figured that since I'm down there, might as well try to swap the steering shaft. I've got two spares anyway, so why not. Sure enough, slightly used steering shaft was exactly what the doctor prescribed. I only found the cracks in the old one when I took a look at it off the car. I'll probably get a solid MM piece later, since it's not a pressing issue.

Dang lousy quality ford steering parts. Glad to see you found the problem though.
This weekend I've had the first track day since I've installed the k-member. The difference is very noticeable. Pretty much everywhere the car used to understeer, it grips pretty hard now. Feels like a completely different car now, love it. Still some understeer if I REALLY overdrive it, my guess mostly due to weight distribution. I am very impressed. Can't wait to get some weight off the front, and go even faster still.
You make me want to get my car weighed. I wonder what kind of difference gutting it made... But other than curiosity, I don't have much of a reason for it. And I need monies for other things lol.
Don't you have a truck scale near by, or a recycling center? Those are pretty accurate. You are not going to get the corner balance, but you will get the overall weight, and you can also check front to rear weight distribution, if you just put one axle on the scale.

Looking good. I weigh mine all the time and check the crossweights every time I do a suspension change. It's great to have a set of Longacres at my disposal. This was when the battery was still in the stock location, moving it equaled it out perfectly.
