rim width questions for the new edge

so Ive got a line on 4 18" XXR 526 in gold brand new never mounted before. the rims are 10.5" wide on all four corners, now I have heard some talk that you may NOT be able run a 10.5" rim on the front of are cars.....any one can confirm or deny this?
these are going to be summer wheels that wont see a ton of use I will be running 17's when tracking the car....also does anyone see a problem with doing so? basically running stock 17's at the track and then these 18's on the street? car will probably only remain on the street for the rest of this year then will be a track toy.

It can be done, you will probably need to massage the fenders and such, and they will probably stick out and look funny if you don't put enough rubber on them. I think it would be silly to use all that tire on the street and use something smaller on the track though.
