rising rpm at idle.

at idle say im at the fast food joint line. my rpms will rise to 1200 then stay there. if i blip the throttle it will choke a little then drop to normal. its been doing this for a week. it sounds possessed. :dontknow: any idears before i rip this car a new ass trying to figure it out?

im going to clean the maf and see if iac is modulating when it shouldnt. i'll alsotry to clean throttle body.

could be a dirty maf, but more then likely dirty throttle body or idle adjustment screw could have come out just a hair and could be messen ya a little bit

Sounds like you have a slight vacuum leak...

+1 on the vacuum leak. Clean the TB while your at it. Make sure to clean it with a "safe for teflon lined" cleaner only. Yes, the back of the butterfly too.

i have the bbk 75 mm tb and i removed the tps and it was clean and had lithium grease in it. however inside the inlet elbow was grimey. im going to have to remove it and clean it.

i agree on the vaccum leak iv had my cold air kinda come off and not even idle lol i drove it like that for awhile before i found out that it was suckin in lots of air yours could just be a small one just look at all the routing and did you do anything to the car recently ???
