There is indeed always a cheaper/faster way, but in the end it all comes down to what YOU want lol.

I mean look at my car... If I never touched the cosmetics department and focused only on speed it would be a 9 second shitty looking car. But my car has a full black leather interior, perfect candy red paint, a nice powdercoated cage, full audio system, and it makes 500hp. It's my idea of the perfect stang, something you can cruise around town with your girl in, be comfortable and look good, and then go and run 10's at the track.

Just saying we're all different and it's what makes the world interesting.

Yea,

I just cant see myself in a v6 mustang...just doesnt make sense to my mind lol.

FWIW, a split port 3.8 is probably just as capable as a NPI 4.6. mod for mod.

Hell no me either I can't stand the way they sound to be honest lol.

Not that I don't respect guys like G36 or Ryan when he had his old blue one, just not my thing personally. I'll always be a v8 guy

lol, NPI should never have existed

I keep hearing that, but I don't mind mine. I guess I do all of my cars the hardway. LOL

This is the truth. I guess maybe my point is there are ways to make a V6 faster than what I alot of people realize. You can work with them if you know what you're doing. They shouldn't just be tossed aside.

Definitely not, they can be very potent if you do the right stuff to them.

I just don't like the v6 engine personally that's all :)

LOL - you take the worse possible V6 exhaust set up for your example. No cats FTL. I hate it when people think they need to get rid of the cats to make power. The V6 NEEDS the cats... taking them off sounds like crap and actually costs HP.

Long tube, high flow cats and chambered mufflers on a boosted car sounds pretty nasty. Wish I had a sound clip of mine when it was done.

Edit: Dug up an old video of mine (still has BFG logos on the fenders). It's a stock manifolds, sotck mid pipe (all four cats) cut and split feeding into Spin Tech 333SCS mufflers (stock 3.8L).

You didnt even rev it lol..

It sounds good at idle, but when you rev the things, the terrible tone comes out.

Do you have one where you rev it?

No, I wish I did. It doesn't sound like those crappy cat-less V6 set ups.
I think people try to use "V8 thought process" when modding V6s too much. They want TBs, headers, no cats etc... things that work on V8s - but not V6s. You end up getting 'built' V6 cars that suck b/c owners don't know what they are doing.

Lol, that seems to be the same everywhere.

The whole stock 4.6 with slp mufflers thing is pretty lame.

its funny cause my car is very quiet for what it is, yet is actually fast

As of late, I tend to prefer quiet cars. I'm thinking about getting rid of the exhaust on the '98 for something 'stock' quiet.... and it's not even that loud to start with.

The mufflers on mine are wicked quiet, which is why I am knocking out all the cats. I will change it to high flow cats immediately if I don't like how it sounds though haha.

My mach 1 with a X-pipe with resonators and Blowmasters is WAY quieter than my old 5.0L with o/r H and chambered Magnaflows, but is also a bit faster lol. My car is too quiet, need more o/r X and borla stingers then I'll be happy :D

There are actually a handful of V6 pushrods over the 600 rwhp mark now, and 400-500 is -dare I say- getting "common". Some aren't forum type people, but they are talked about. Gary (GT Eater) is on, Matt Neuharth was the first in his single port auto car, Jerome ("J"- with a red Roush drop top) was on his way to 850 flywheel with his TT set up last time I talked to him. There are a few T and TT set ups pushing the big numbers. There are a couple of 400-500 M112's running around. There was a Whippled Super Coupe runnning around (same 3.8L V6), but he sold off the blower set up.

Sorry to interject another tangent but WTf is T and TT? I see it alot with motorcycle racing. Yeah, I dont get out much in my old age ;~)) Fred
