rocker arm adjustment.....help

what the proper way to adjust the rocker arm on my 95 mustang i have a e-303 and 1.7 roller rockers i need some help please? :dontknow:

hmm... Assuming they are pedastal mount, (With the valve closed) while holding the center allen nut, turn the rocker nut until the pushrod
no longer spins freely. Then tighten another 1/4 turn, and lock the allen nut. You may have to hand spin the engine over to get each valve
in the closed position.

yes they are pedastal mount.. and i did like you said turning the push rod untill that stop turning but they still turn by the time i get the alllen bolt tight and im am doing wit the valve closed

One of 2 things.

Either you need longer pushrods or your lifters will take up the slack when they get oil pressure.

thanks guys!!!!!! i got the to work out i used a drill to pump up the oil so i can get it right

ok im getting ready to fire up the motor what the proper way to put it time with the timming light

Bring the engine to tdc for the #1 cylinder on it's compression stroke, rotate the dizzy until it is pointing at the #1 plug wire on the cap. This will get you close enough to start it. Make a mark on the crank at 0 with chalk or a bright crayon and set your timing light to 12. Remove the spout, and crank the engine. Turn the dizzy until the mark aligns with the timing pointer. Engine should run. Reinstall SPOUT!
