I have Been looking into 1.7's to replace my 1.6's, I have TF 170 heads, with .650 springs, TF trackheat intake, and an E cam.
I read an article in MM/FF about the same cam as mine and they gained 10hp-15tq. Are there any drawbacks to this? Do you guys think the dyno# were fudged?

MM/FF is not about fudging dyno number. They preform a lot of dyno and track testing

so what do you think of the idea? My plan is to put a TF street upper back on and hope to gain back the hp-tq I lost
when I went to the Track heat, and while im there do the RR's and get some more HP-TQ. Or should I just install a better cam for my intake Like the N-41 for example?

you will need to make sure you have enough clearance both for the valves and the rockers to be sure. It will increase how far the valves are lifted which can be good or bad.
