rough idle affecting trans?

Cars been down for awhile, I've replaced maf 3 times wires 2 times, plugs 3 times, coil, timing chain, fuel pump, icm, and some vac lines. Now the car turns on fine when cold but the idle hangs at about 1300, but when fully warm it outta nowhere idles low and runs rich. The cars loses all power and what confuses me is that I can run it and it'll go past5 grand and it'll stay in first gear. But only when it begins to idle does it not shift? I need to replace o2's cause its time and was thinking the stator in the dizzy cause it dies every now and then, but googled about the tranny and can't find anything that'll affect it. And ZERO codes and somtimes it fails to connect to the ecu? Any ideas would be great, thanks

When it idles fine I can disconnect the maf and it boggs, the old wired were arcing and I've fouled out 2 sets of plugs because of the rich mixture. But when it starts to idle like crap and not wanna move I can disconnect the maf and it don't make a difference.

I ran a compression test today, and the car averaged between 125-135 psi on all but the #5 cylinder. Dry it did 70psi and wet with some oil tossed in it bumped up to 90. Do you think its a valvetrain thing or rings? Thanks

Yeah sorry bout that, I just got a lot going on with the car and not much time to work on it and have had no luck and a lot of $ spent at 2 shops. And that's what I find weird is that as soon as its warm "enough" it'll start to miss then goes to a full blown rough idle and starts smoking. And when it does that it stays in first gear if I try and drive it but only when it starts, which it doesn't fail to do. I've tried what I stated earlier and no luck, ill try and make a vid and pm you but I'm doing this through my phone. Thanks a lot and ill try and get to you soon

An unstable idle can affect your transmission. Last year my car had issues like that. The tranny did not want to shift by it's own on D, and the idle speed was very high. A new TPS soled all my problems. Remember that these cars run everything electronically. The TPS replaces the tv/kick down cable on these models. Just my $02 :)
