Ok here we go, I got in my car to crank it up. Right off the bat rough idle at the halfway mark under 1 rpms. Gave some gas and reved up just fine. Then when I took my foot off the gas pedal the rpm stayed reved up for like 5-10 seconds then would go back down to that rough idle. It seems I had to get up above 2 grand before it would stay stuck up there before returning down. Somebody gave me their opinion on it may being the Idle Air Control (IAC). Not exactly sure what is just wondering if somebody else had this problem before or had any solutions.

Thank you for your time.

I had this happen before and it simply was the IAC not plugged in, start by checking the IAC and TPS are connected securely, then try cleaning the IAC with some carb cleaner

If that doesnt work listen under the hood with the car running for any hissing

clean MAF, IAT, IAC and start with that. make sure they are all plugged in. also, since you're there, check both PCV lines.

More than likely it's the IAC. The Ford TM says you can't clean them but some people believe you can. I have never had good luck with this.

clean everything, if your IAC is bad, and causing this, then what have you lost if you clean it? either way its gonna need replaced if its bad, clean or not.

look at the MAF good to, if its element is dirty, it could be having trouble metering the air at low engine vacuum.

What is there not to have luck with? Unplug, remove two bolts, spray with carb cleaner, shake dry, reinstall

In most of the forums about half of the people say that cleaning the IAC works. I have cleaned several IACs to only have the same high idle problems. I was saying that I agree with the Ford TM and that Replacing the IAC is the way to fix it.

i got my IAC dirty... i know i did... im saying how i know, but we will leave it at: "Chris is a retard"

anyways, i took off my vacuum line on the front of the TB. sprayed MAF cleaner in there... elt it sit for a minute. did it again, started the car... lightly sprayed it in there while the car sat idling... idles like a champ again.
