for the longest while, my start up has been horrific. i have had to replace the starter twice in the last year. it roughly takes 3-4 seconds to start up. if i have drove awhile and let the car warm up quite a bit, its starts up instantaneous. lately i have been hearing a whine come from the rear end so im wondering if thats a fuel pump? not sure if it has anything to do with start up but figure i would add that on.

next time you go to cold start the car, cycle the key a few times before trying to crank it over.

this will indicate that you have a fuel pressure drop problem in your fuel feed line.

usually caused by a bad check valve in the pump, or a failed rubber hose from the pump to the sending unit
