Just wondering what a safe amount of nitrous to put thro a 5.0 motor with just some basic bolt on. I just want it when I really need it the mileage. Is about 135k

I've done 125 dry and 135 wet on 5.0 Foxes without issues. Just make sure you have a upgraded fuel pump above a 100 shot just to be safe.

Do your research.

75 shot at most unless you bump up your fuel pressure or get a better fuel pump and if you run a dry kit you want bigger injectors after 75 shot.

1. Retard your timing
2. Bump up your fuel with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
3. 1 step colder plugs
4. Don't spray under 2000 RPM
5. Fuel safety switch is a good idea.
6. you will need a purge kit other wise you will bog before it sprays
7. You also have to make sure you are running 91 or better gas to be safe from detonation.

Wet kit is gas with no2 spraying in your intake which is safer and the cheaper route so your car dosnt run lean and brake something.

Dry kit just sprays no2 and you have to have good enough fuel system to run it safe. I dont know how big of a shot you can run with dry on a stock 5.0 fuel system but i am positive you can do a bigger shot with a wet kit because of the extra fuel spraying in the intake.

In my red 94 mustang gt i ran 14.8 stock and with a 75 shot i got 14.3 with every safty thing you can do with spray except for fuel pump.

14.8 with no upgrades on a 94 gt?! holy balls. The new edges are supposed to be around that time...with a good driver...

lol new edges get into the 13s stock with a good driver man....

Anyways, people have run a ton of nitrous on the 5.0s...im talking 250 shots lol.

You should have no issues with a 100 shot as long as the setup is right.

That was with under-drive pulleys, CAI, Cat-back with 12+ degrees of timing and some drag radials in an auto.

My 94 i have now is mostly that with 5 speed with 3.73's and i get 14.7 at 93 mph.

MOST dry setups have a adapter that plugs into the fuel pressure regulator, this will raise fuel pressure when you spray.

The wet sprays fuel and nitrous through one jet, or a plate system. The wet is the one that needs a purge, if you hit it without purging your car will bog because the nitrous goes from the bottle to the solenoid while the fuel is already there. This can cause the fuel to pool in the intake for a couple of seconds and can be potentialy dangerous. The dry you just purge in the burnout box while frying the tires.

I sprayed both systems without a window switch or FP safety switch, the FP is the only one I would have liked. I've never had a FP die on me, but it could happen. Although I'd be willing to bet that the engine would just die, spray or not. Nitrous is not flamable without fuel, ask the dentist. :) The automotive grade is just tainted with sulfur so junkies don't use it. I have gone off the factory rev limiter while spraying without problems, it did just like it does normally. It did scare me tho.
