That should work, Yea

But if your not sure of what to use to remove it what plans do you have once its removed?
You could end up messing it up and making more work for the person that has to prep/paint the car.

Well me and my uncle, who is a body man are supposed to do the body work and prep, then im gonna have the maaco near me paint it....(its a really good maaco, I've seen some of their work on the local forum) but I dont understand the first part of your question... Once its removed its just gonna be the stock paint underneath it, do i need to sand that with a higher grit?, because I've got all the way up to 2000 grit.

Lol I'll do the 1000 grit wet by hand. I wanna strip it quick so Ima put the 400 on my palm sander. And you repainted it by yourself?

yo ucan do dry sanding but its gonna make a mess, when you wet stand it keeps the pores in the paper clean, also will keep dust down. so i would wet stand the car, start with 600 and see how it goes, 400 will work but youll have to step it up, normally when you paint over a sanded surface you want to have it the final grit used of 800.

Right, if you just hit it with 400, scratches will show through in the top coat.

yeah man do the Hoke Poke and turn yourself around :)

No but really just take your time and don't apply too much pressure when your sanding . Let the machine do a good bit of the work and if your unsure of spots do those by hand. You'll be fine. I am masking off my garage and buying a sprayer and paint and doing mine this summer once it warms up. I think Jason (vermillion) is going to visit with his car also. :)

use a sponge, and a little dish soap, get the paper wet, then stick it to the sander, as well as wet down the car. The wetter the better, just like that other thing....
