i dont really know how many of you are well versed in scca rules and regulations, but i was curious as to the rules regarding car safety.
i have read through the rules on their site, and searched through many forums, but i cant find my exact questions.
#1 for my...near...stock coupe (closed), from what i read, i dont need a rollcage, is this true? (just recommended?)
#2 "A Solo event is open to any vehicle that can pass safety inspection, has the minimum bodywork specified by these Rules, and is properly muffled" i have dual mufflers, just no cat...am i ok?
#3 "Safety inspection is not concerned with the legality of a car." so...what do they really look for regarding safety, aside from the obvious...like body panels falling off?
im not concerned about my car, good ole stang is probably my safest car, but my buddy has an 88 300z....its...beat up.... (one of these days i'll get some pics of the two of us.)
sorry if this isnt in the right section, but i figured if i needed any advice to make it to central iowa's oct 24th event, you guys would be the best people to turn to. (after we get his vg30de put back together of course...he shouldnt have taken it apart....darn nissan...)
OH, and i dont plan to be competitive or anything, just want some precious track time :laughing5:
