setups for 13's to low 14's

Im like you...Nitrous is good and all but its worthless to me on a daily driven street car.


My auto npi:

14.5 with 3.73s and long tubes
14.2 with 3.73s, long tubes, tune, pi intake
14.0 with 3.73s long tubes, tune, pi intake, o/r h pipe

at some point during this I went with a 75 mm tb,plenum, and jlt intake but I dont really think they did anything
I was trapping 102 and the car definately had 13s in it with some tires and suspension but my car is on sportlines so its not setup for the strip.

thats pretty much how my car went....of course all of these runs were made on street tires so all the 60 foot times were like 2.1-2.2


with those mods and a procharger I went 12.8 at 113...but I believe its got a little more in it.

yo justin, what did she end up pushing out with the blower on? how much psi ya seeing and whats your timing? just curious

It looks like 11 psi at 6k. Im running 6 degrees of timing according to my xcal2...lol..maybe thats just 6 degrees more tha the base...I dont know.

I never asked my tuner.
How much timing are you running?

How much timing are you running?

I see about 11psi as well, and if i can remember correctly about 15 degrees of timing. What kind of rwhp/tq did she end up making?

Your Xcal should read 0 on timing, he should have made the final adjustments to the base.

I had a CAI, 75mm TB and Plenum, full exhaust with no cats, longtube headers, and a 125 shot. My best time with that set up was a 13.28 at 105 with a 1.9 60 ft.

Its 11.5 a/f ratio...but again, I havent dynoed the car but ive beat the shit out of it for a month with no problems at 11 psi with 111k on my motor .

Matt from Performance Evolution in Middletown De....he's pretty much the man when it comes to modular engines as far as im concerned.

He was on the cover of MM&FF a while ago for his 86 GT with a 4v cobra engine in it I believe.

He tunes all his cars on the street unless the owner specifically wants a dyno tune.

He tunes on the street becuase its a real situation...the engine has real load and the tune he makes for the car is what the car is doing on the road...not some rollers calibrated for a 2800 pound car

He tuned it with a laptop, wideband a/f sensor and some sort of program for xcals

The car is my daily driver and has 111k on the clock and he knew that when he tuned it so im sure he tuned it very conservative.

Nothings gonna change the fact that its a npi 2v turd other than a full pi swap or atleast pi cams and intake and even then...it wont be all that fast.

I guess it really depends on your goal but my car with all those bolt ons and now a blower is still not all that fast although im only running like 6 degrees of timing and a really safe tune but still.

YEAP with a NON pi car go big or dont bother

But you go big you run into shit breaking all the times. Like mine. With the lastest mods i just did should be a soild 10sec 2v.
