A few minor trans issues have turned into a hopefully quick project. The throwout bearing sleeve broke off due to a severely worn clutch fork pivot.

So a kinda simple job of swapping a bell housing and clutch has turned into a short(hopefully) project when the exhaust manifold stud broke off inside the exhaust manifold. Now it has turned into bell housing, clutch, long tubes, mid pipe, tubular k-member, shocks, struts, and S&L lowering springs

The rear shocks and springs are in. They were supposed to be a 1.5 inch drop, but it is more like 2 inches.

Picked up the shocks and struts from Bernie(ram360) very good used.

The bell housing is swapped out. Picked it up from MPS Auto Salvage in Georgia glass beaded and ready to install for $150.00.

Waiting on the arrival of my Mac ceramic coated long Tubes and K-member. Both should be here this week.

The 2" rear springs should level the car off if the fronts are 1.5". I have 2" all around and it's definitely nose down. It's funny how a quick job spirals outta control, Matt. Hindsight being 20/20, I could've replaced my oil pump and have been driving my '95 for the last three users. No, the 410w + IRS swap seemed like a "better idea" /rant

Haha, you're gonna love the way you car looks/handles with the suspension upgrades and how it sounds with the long tubes!! Good luck!!

This isall stuff I wanted to do after the 66 was done, but this minor inconvenience forced my hand to do it early.

I want to install tubular a-arms as well. Might have to put the stock ones back on for the hawks nest cruise.

The k-member arrived today. Started the tear down process. The suspension and rack are removed, I will finish the k-member swap tomorrow. Hope to start on the headers as well.

AGREEEED!! A simple cooling problem turned into a 351w crate motor lol. No big deal.

I was gonna say, doing the headers with the k-member out is so much better lol! You got your shit together Matt, can't wait for the results! No more 4x4 for you.

Old k-member is out and the new one is temporarily in place. The exhaust manifolds came off without any issues that could not be rectified with our friend the torch. The exhaust ports are nice and clean, no oil residue at all.

My new motor mounts and header mounting gaskets will be in on Monday. I need to get new k-member mounting bolts, 1 of them is corroded pretty badly. So unless something happens during the week where I get some time to play. This portion of the recon will be finished next Saturday.

Installed a Spec Stage 1 clutch and trans is in. The headers are all in. My CC plates showed up. Today I am installing the front end back in. The new catted x-pipe is on the way. Only thing left to get now is a short throw shifter, and injectors.

Did I mention headers suck to install. Got them in and had to pull the right side back out again to install the trans. Thos stupid emissions fittings on the front suck balls. They make it much more difficult than it needs to be.
