Show off MGW shifter

I recently installed an MGW and I'm wanting a shift boot that sits below the orange block since I like the look of it. The only two options I can think of is either... A) Taking off the leather boot I have and just leaving it (Looks cheap since you can see the foam pad and 2nd boot) or "modify" the current shift boot by cutting it in half... or... something. Ideas?

I am pretty sure redline leathers can make you a custom one that would fit after you make a few measurements if you want to do it right. It also opens up the option to allow you to pick the material(s).
