Well got myself a little engine bay cleanup project on my buddys 94 vert. Little info on the car, its a clean 94 vibrant red vert that hes adding headers, explorer intake and gears to. So while its down were going to do some engine bay cleanup. Nothing to indepth just some elbow grease, paint and some wire and vac clean up. Not adding heads as he plans on doing a complete build in the future but for now this will give him a little boost in the seat of his pants. Hes also got a cobra bumper cover, saleen speedster and wing going on, should be back from paint soon. I have limited hours to put into this project as Im getting busy at work so its gonna be a few weeks of picking at little by little. I will add pics and updates as it progresses. For now a sneak peak at the explorer intake I cleaned up for him, its about 80% complete just a few small details to finish on it.

Nope shes ES just the lighting i think. Well were not going as crazy as I did as time and money are on the short side. But it will be a huge difference over the stock look. Lets just say its a budget clean up.

Thanks CC...........The blank plate is the stock 5.0 v8 explorer plate that I filled and smoothed. As far as adding something to it Ive been kicking around an idea of incorporating a nickname hes had on all his cars.
A quick photoshop of what I had in mind..mind you this is just a thought at the present moment.

Love the color combination there. Similar to what I have in mind for mine, however mine has the motorsports SVO 94-95 upper and lower, so no plaque there. Will probably polish out that area.

Ryan you know Ive said it a hundred times, although the horizonals are a rare breed.... I wont run them till I can get my hands on a set of Saleen bezels. Till then call me what you like lol.

As far as Carlisle goes hes in, that is one of the reasons for the engine bay clean up. Now that hes got the body parts going on competing in the mod class with a dirty stock bay just isnt going to cut it. I figure a quick clean up will give him a little boost. On a side note after breaking the motor down I discoverd a leaky head gasket on number 8 cylinder, so hes looking around for a cheap set of P heads to toss on temporarily. He didnt want to get this deep as he planned on a full motor build over the next year, but being the heads have to come off might as well drop on the P's. This way he can resell them when the real motor build is done and he wont be out any money. As of now I have tucked the passenger side harness, TFI, CCRM, and cleaned up thee fender apron. Not getting into a full wire tuck yet, as I will do that once the engine is out, but the little bit that has been done really helped to clean things up quit a bit. Ill get some more pics up tonight.

Also grabbed a set of P heads for $175 just waiting on them to come back from machineshop. Brackets and Acc... all cleaned up and ready to reassemble.
Just have some vacum clean up to finish, should be ready in a week or so.

Well after a few weeks of waiting on miscellaneous parts, finally got her back up and running. Not to bad for some spray paint and a little elbow grease. Needless to say the owner is quite pleased with not only the looks but the little boost in performance the gt40P heads and intake gave him. All in all a very nice and inexpensive project. Heres a few pics of said car and finished bay.
