Hey guys,

I just installed a set of Simco gauges on my 94 GT and they are sweet. I was a bit hesitant about the 94-98 gauges because they aren't completely plug and play like the 99+ are, but now that I have them installed they look great and function perfectly. I can't seem to get any good pictures of them yet, but here's what I have.

These are the Classic Series, and they look really sweet. Night pictures require a steady hand that I don't really have, so that'll have to wait til I find my dad's tripod and night rolls around again.

Thanks you helped me decide! I was going to get these when I get my new engine and you have shown me that I have too, they look nice :). How hard was the install?

Not hard at all. After reading the instructions, I thought I was done for, but after I got into it the installation was very straight forward. Just make sure you pay close attention to the calibration of the gauges and you'll be in the clear.

The reason I put the original thread in 94-95 specific was because I know that a lot of people didn't know they were made for 5.0 SN's since they are a part you have to call Simco for. ;)

So glad you like them! Can't wait to see the pics of them all lit up @ night!! I've looked around for that piece you said you didn't get. I just don't see anything! I'll search again later, though.

Not sure what to say about your steady hands. I just suck it up & get still! I do this process about 3-5 times though.

Just happy you are happy with them!!

I see like the indicators show up better for you! I thought they would. I think they look just more classy. Best word I can think of right now.

they look much better than stock... but if it was me, i would have tried to put the stock needles on those gauges if you can get to them.

I really like these needles since they aren't translucent and makes them more readable. The stock needles are nice for a black background, but I really like how these look.

Install was very straight forward. :)

Stock needles won't work. I do know of that for sure!! I don't know how to explain it, but the part that attaches is too big. Because it is that big, it won't let the needles move. I think on the MPH & RPM, the stock work. On the smaller gauges, not @ all. I tried & failed @ that!! Painted my stock needles to all black. Kinda like that now, though.

hm. i wonder if you could even get away with gluing them to the gauge's motor/servo arm if you have no intention of taking them off ever again.

Why would you want to glue them? They fit on & fit just fine. Like when you kill your car, you know how they jump to where they are? They stayed the same. All I knew for sure was my gas tank was full. I filled it up just before. I can't remember where it pointed, just not full. Sorry, I really can't remember.

like the needles didnt move when the car was on? probably because the gagues' motor arms were probably just spinning inside the needle. sounds like the holes for the needles on the stock ones are bigger than the needle holes on the simco gauges. you could probably just put a little adhesive in the holes of the stock gauges, and they'd bite right to the gauge's motor arm.

The problem is that on some of the 94-95s the hub of the fuel and water temp gauge is larger than the other two small gauges. If you reused the correct needle on each, I think they would work fine. However you can't just switch any of them. There would be nothing stopping you from reusing the stock needles on these gauges, but you can not install the Simco needles on any cluster without getting the hub adapters. I hope that made sense...

Still not so sure, sorry!! Say the holes on the Simco's are dime size. The stock part where it attaches in a nickel size. Because it is bigger than it's supposed to be, it can't turn right.

i think i know what youre trying to explain, but id probably have to see it to get a real understanding. i mean, im sure something can be done to make it work, probably just takes a little creativity.
