I'm taking the car in for an appointment to see what it will take to add a supercharger to the mix. I just want a bit more response from the gas pedal. I want to hear how reliable the set ups are. Excessive Motorsport in Mannassas Va. will do the work, give me suggestions on which internals will be upgraded. While they are working on replacing the cam, springs, rockers, ect.. Is there the opportunity to rebuild/replace engine components so that you could expect to put a ton more miles on the car? Example:valves, valve rings, bearings, ect??
Really, what I'm getting at is this- To invest more time and money into the car without getting some kind of assurance of longevity with the drivetrain is a question eating me up.

For the same money couldn't you do a V8 swap where you wouldn't have any issues with reliability and still have teh option to supercharge down teh road if even that proves to not keep your right foot excited?

Yeah, That's what I thought too. I started another thread talking about which block size would be economical, and how much ease with the installation, end-result satisfaction. I would love a modern TREMEC Magnum 6 speed transmission or better.
One reason to keep the car is all the love I have thrown at it. With the exception of replacing the engine out, I have replaced most all of the rest of the car! So, a major MAJOR tune up, a blower and I might get 250-300HP which is bit more than what I started with- 125HP, and I loved the car then trying to get to move a little faster.

A blower install on the V6 is FAR cheaper and easier than a V8 swap.
What blower are you looking at? What power range are you shooting for?

If you motor is in good shape and you're looking for 350 or so, just boost it and supply fuel. A good tune will keep you very safe at those levels on a stock motor.
If you're doing heads and a cam and want to push further - a forged bottom end is a must. Might as well do a low compression 4.2L rotating assembly package and go all out at once if you have the money. Stock Ford crank, forged rods/pistons and good hardware.

Personally, I'd do a 4.2L bottom end into a Super Coupe motor and call it a day. It would be on par with a pullied Terminator for power.

I'm so glad LilRoush came to save the day.

Basically everything he said. It doesn't take much to open these puppies up.

if I could do it all over again, I'd go with the 4.2 again, a nice cam with Magnum Powers m90 :drools: I love me a screamer, both in blowers and women :look:

LilRoush, Thanks very much for the information. Great recommendation and I will bring that with me word for word.
I just e-mailed them this morning to show up this Saturday to look over the car, make a decision, and put some money down.
I will let you guys know what comes of it. To say that I'm very excited is a HUGE understatement.

As of today, the plan is to order new exhaust, carpet, and Corabau suspension seat next Friday. After the parts are installed the shop is going to keep the car for a day to look over. We are going to talk then about doing what is needed to extend the life of the engine and get a blower put on at the same time. It's going to all happen fast. Finished product will be real nice. Thats it as of today, anyway.
