SLP on a 97 GT

what do you guys think of the SLP loudmouth 1s or 2s on a sn95 4.6L. i have a 97 GT and im looking into buying loudmouths. i like the sound on my buddys 02 and 07 GTs. What do you guys think i should do? is there another way to go if you dont like slp's? not looking to spends 700+ on it. i know that loudmouths are about 525.

Im not sure if this would be cheaper but cant you get the slp mufflers from www.americanmuscle.com http:// and then take em to a muffler shop and they can make some tail pipes out of it?

All I can say..is shitty loud pipes..But to each his own.

Bassani is my personal favorite, but kinda pricey.

thats the site i was basing the 525 off of... for the catback.

i have a lift available to put the catback in myself and was going to order them from that site.

I still like SLP sounds like a LT1 Dump Truck on a 4.6....

Ok so the bashing begins...anyway, SLP your car will sound like NO OTHER MUSTANG..,unless it has SLP of course. I've had it for years and do wish I had the LM2's only because highway driving and my 4.10 gears makes my head ring. If you dont want to sound like every other mustang out there get it and then pair it with an X-pipe, an H sounds horrible with the straight through design.

Oh and dont go buy "racing" seats unless they are legal in sanctioned races, otherwise your just like all the other ricers who buy their seats from Pep Boys :bootyshake:

If you want loud get a single chamber muffler and an x pipe. Talk to your local exhaust shop and see what they can build a system for. I like mine loud and I went with longtubes, off road x pipe, flowmasters (the internals were gutted) and dumps. If you run me and you have a manual I hope you have a shift light.

it wasnt directed towards you just to an SLP basher. Anyway, everyone has flows. Get the LM2's you still get that specific tone but a lot less of the hollow "noise" thats present with the LM1's at lower rpm.

why do you care what other people like? F everybody else when it comes to our own car and how it sounds,looks, how you mod it in general. If you think it sounds bad ass...I do and get a number of compliments where ever I go, then get your cat back that YOU want. I have even had a number of "older" people (old as in guys walking with walkers) stop me and say "hey that brings back memories, it sounds like my old 68 I used to have." Just get what you want to get bud.

I have a o/r x pipe and slp lm1, dumped on my 97 and I just bought the mufflers from american muscle and welded them in and they sound soooooo good you better want your car to be loud as shit if you go with lm1. and I only have $150 in them
