smog delete and t5 swap

I'm considering doing a smog pump delete on my 95gt. I did one one my 91 and everything worked great, but I've heard that the ecu's in the 94-95's are really picky when it comes to ANY mods. Is it going to cause a problem? Also, I just started a auto to t-5 swap. I know i have evrything I will need (I bought a wrecked 95 with the t-5) but I've read several step by step articles and I've found one inconsistancy. Some articles say I have to re-route the speedo cable through a different hole in the firewall... Does anyone know if this is actually true? I cant imagine that out of all the articles I've read eveyone with the exception of one person forgot to mention this step.

You don't have a speedo cable. It's electronicNo prob deleting the smog pump. Just pull it off and get a shorter belt, then remove the air tubes and cap off the tube from the cat.

Thats for the fox.. I did a 5 speed swap not long ago.. The only thing is the hole for the shifter needs to be cut...

/\ Both replies are correct. I did a smog delete and T5 swap on my 95 GT also.

One detail that is not often mentioned is regarding the shifter hole. The factory manual cars actually had a raised sheetmetal hump grafted on the shifter hole. It also had the correct pattern for the lower boot. So with a T5 swapped car, the shifter will appear to be sticking out of the hole further, since the sheetmetal is about 1.25 lower without the hump. Not a big deal, you can just cut out the center of your lower boot so that the shifter base pokes through.

I'm actually thinking about deleting the smog from my 95GT. Hate to sound like a rookie on this... But anyone got instructions on what all is pulled off and capped? Also, how to calculate the new belt size once the pump is deleted? Appreciate it..
