what color was your coolant?? was it the normal green, or do it appear to have a high rust content?? You may have a clogged radiator (not completely clogged but enough to cause cooling issues)

adding a mechanical temp gauge for real readings....so i will know for sure how hot the car is running...
then i can relax a bit....

the coolant is is green..i see no oil or even rust...looks very clean..

however i have the check engine light on...so i will see what kind of codes its throwing...

ill keep everyone posted for my problems.....

I'm in the same boat as you. My temp and oil guages are all over the place, but sometimes they work fine. I'm installing autometers and pod this week.

another good way to keep track of coolant temp is to buy a Mr Gasket Thermocap. It has a guage built into the radiator cap, and its $25.
