hey guys im looking at buying a set of smoked headlights. i was wondering about the longevity of the blue oval industries. i bought a set of ebay special clear headlights and after about a year, the lenses started to crack and now look like crap and i cannot see anything at night... are they a quality piece? id hate to spend 250 for them with the fogs and after a year they look like crap..

thanks

i bought some from boi before & didn't have any problems with them, except for the rubber trim around the turn signals. that seems to be a problem with alot of aftermarket ones.

btw, whatever you get, don't forget to seal all 4 pieces with silicone so they don't get moisture on the inside.

I bought a set ffom blue oval, headlights and fogs. Didn't seal them because I didn't know any better, after about a week the passenger side got moisture in it and rusted the inside of the housing. Seal them up good and maybe they'll work for you.

BOI set here from ebay.. Never had to seal mine up but one of the weatherstripping did come off... Had mine on the car for about 3 years now and no problems.. My car also lives outside since I have no garage.

has anybody NOT had the weather stripping come off the corner lines on their aftermarket headlights? WTF is up with that? It starts falling off before you even get them installed sometimes.

on my clears the rubber started to peel. but fortunately i had some loctite 495 sitting around.

what are you saying to seal on them? just around where the bulb goes in? i've only had mine out of the garage twice since i got mine. still snow and gravel everywhere here.

I smoked my own 3 yrs ago and they have held up great. Get good materials and don't rush it and you can get the shade you want with as good or better quality......

Where the front lenses meet the housings, at least, that's where I sealed the aftermarket headlights I got for my '95 & '99 Grand Cherokees and they see all kinds of weather. No problems with either set
