I have a 94 cobra. It was in an accident before I go it. Instead of the passenger side having a vented side scoop (scoop in quarter panel rear of door) it has a non-vented scoop. Does any one know where I can buy one of these scoops?

Also, does anyone know what years and models that the vented scoops came on? I have seen a 96-98 sn95 v6 mustang with vented scoops along with my 94 cobra and my friend's 94 cobra. Is there any rhyme to reason? Also, if it matters, every time there is a vented scoop, there is a vent inside the wheel well to match the vent in the side scoop. Anyone got any general info on why some and some don't have this vented side scoop?

yeah, as a general rule, the 94-95 mustangs, all of them, were vented. 96-98 werent supposed to be vented, but im sure there were some 96's who had them vented because ford prob had some spare ones and just went ahead and installed them.

putting in the vented ones on a non vented one isnt hard, you just swap out the vents. the issue comes into play when you realize that there are vents on the inside of the wheel well. i have 2 vented ones that i am going to experement putting on my car which doesnt have vented scoops. the install is going to be easy, but trying to figure out an effective way of getting the vent on the wheel well is gonna be tough. i figure just drilling holes should be cool. might go to a junk yard and pick some up or something. dunno yet.

Wow, didnt know that the 94-95 were real vents... :dunno:
Mine just has black plastic fake vent.

Was there a reason they were vented, like for the rear brakes maybe?
Anyone have a pic?

How the hell are the vents made to cool the brakes? Have you ever even looked at them? At BEST (which is a joke) they vent/cool the rear tires.

and lower the ambient air temp of the wheel well which in turn cools of the brakes. just because the air vents are aimed at the tires doesnt mean that it only cools off the tires. and yes, i know, on the streets its pointless to have these as they arent very effective, which is prob why ford got rid of them. on the track (autox) they are beneficial to have.
