Hey guys i have Tri Bars right now.....

P1080488.JPG

And i was thinking maybe trying to find another set of Tri bars and have 2 widened to accept a larger tire safely. I am trying to keep the cost down as there are local company's here that widen wheels.

I was also looking at possibly getting the newer 99-04 GT wheels also.......

That guy only wants 200 for those......

What do you guys think???

What would you guys do??
The guy i was going to get a set of 18x9 Eagle alloys that looked like cobra's his dad wanted the rims. So what do you think? give me some more opinions

starfish wheels look much better than tribars.. but for the price of those, plus widening you could have just bought replica wheels...

You said a $600. budget ? O.K. here is the plan... Buy em for $200 and use them for now. Then sell your old wheels and tires the 17" (tri)'s for at least $100. Now you are back to $500. Buy some rims you really want and use them on the tires. Take them and mount them on your ride and sell the (99-04) rims for at least $100. Cost ? It will depend on the wheels you choose but basically you will have a "NEW" set up on your ride for about $400. more than likely ! Another idea be patient... a few months back I was an hour short of a set of bullets with good tires for $275. ! Good Luck, D

buy them.. if nothing else, youve got spares, if you get stranded. you wont have to leave you car on the side of the road (long) if at all. you could always resale. .02

I picked up my OEM chrome 04 Cobra's for $500 with good tires all around. Get what you want the first time because with the economy you can never count on reselling something.

My friend had an 01 Cobra 2 cars before his 03 Cobra.  He sold those rims to my other friend with the 94 GT.  Looks pretty good on it.  I'd get you pics, but she lives 48 miles to my west.

Those you posted are 01's. Do you mean these, or 99's? I'm not sure how those look, but do know the Y2K's are way different!

i think it would be cool to have a set of tri bars with a fat 315 in the back.... i would have to get a new set 2 of mine are bent from the PO and all 4 are curbed. I think the Polished Cobra's will do for now though. He is willing to meet me and also willing to negotiate on the price. What would you guys say to that.

I'd look for a nice used set of like 17x9/17x10.5 deepdish bullitts or something and throw em on... Probably look into a set of lowering springs too
