With the Carpet stripped out to weld in my Subframe kit on Thurs, i decided to do some long awaited work to the interior. Carpet tossed , V6 GTS front seats tossed. Have some new items to install as i go. Today i carried on restoring the rear seat speaker cover panel. Replaced the speakers to go with my sony head unit with built in Amp (700 CAD). Got a Bazooka tube sub in the trunk, nothing fancy.

Was going to buy speaker covers and cut out hole but then had an idea. Since thete are actual metal grills built in i thought i would expose them. It takes almost an hour per side to remove the layer of copper strand used in the gluing process. Will update as i go.

if you have not put the rear deck back in place do yourself a favor and take the speakers out and mount them from the bottom of the trunk. It can be a bit of a pain to get in there to do it but its easier than removing that rear cover if you need to get to them later.

Good to know thanks. Thinking since i do need to remove the large back seat side plastic pieces that meet the deck piece at the corners to access for new seat belts harness attached behind those is when i will put that deck piece back in place/should slide right in.

Can confirm it's a pain to get to lol. I ended up laying the back seat down and crawling through that way to get to them.

and then you when got into position and realized you forgot the screws/connectors/can't reach the drill.
Yep, it's also incredibly fun with progressive lenses when you can't get your head in the right spot to see a flippin' thing.

Got 1/2 the kilzmat done. Used foil tape on the Good factory pieces (1st 3 pics you can see yellowish sections). No rust anywhere tad of brown surface under the rear floor pan plugs. Cleaned up and used Rustcheck converter. Estimated around 71/2 hours labour for first half.

Kilzmatt completed. Used 34 ft2 total as there was no need to cover over the factory sound deadner spots. Those i covered with good quality foil tape more for good looks. Also got the wiring for stereo stuff sorted out as well as two aluminum brackets for the final piece of the rear seat delete (lower panel). I did a quick lay put off the carpet and cut out the console area for now. MTF.

Centre Console and 2 shifter pieces installed. Seats installed, matts and completed the Rear seat Delete.
All that is left is to mod on the Drivers Side Mach-360 Tweeter in.
Future work is to complete the trunk area with new carpet. I should have swapped out both Door hinges while interior was out but have them on hand and that will require the rare occassion of asking someone to help ie. Hold the Door. That will be it for now on this interior thread. Thanks. Danny

Nice work on the seats, both front & back. What mounting brackets did you use? How is the head room?
Corbeau seat rails and they are as low as possible. Backrest arm adjuster on the seat side is tight and the manual window crank is better than stock as i also added a clutch pedal extender so i can keep the seat further back.

Could you have adapted the stock (v6) seat mounting brackets? Head close to the roof liner? How tall are you?

Sorry for the ?'s, Im 6'2" and when wearing my helmet, its very close to roof line. Have power leather seats from a 99 Cobra.

Really like the looks, once again, nice work and thanks for the reply.

Definately no go using the V6 brackets which is what i had originally. Only 5, 7 tall. I am guessing its the same height or lower than my v6 seats. My head is in line with the headrest. My leg inseam is 30. Depends if your a "tall". Really worth getting the frames i think its around 50-60 each Canadian.

I can measure from the back of the seat cushion straight up 90 degrees to the headliner for you as well as the top of the backrest and top of head rest to the headliner and you can compare the measurements. I am a stocky 200 lb fellow and just fit nice side to side in the seats. Let me know and i can measure for you
