you ever think about tinting the tail lights? Would really pop on the yellow.

yeah i have...but i think it would look bad if i ever change my wheels cause the black saleens are the main feature that make the tinted headlights and mustang gt insert look good...

You're gonna get rear-ended sometime if you don't do something about clearing up the haziness on those tail lights. Hopefully a cop stops you before you get hurt.

Light shines through them great, if someone rear ends me they are 100% at fault and I can finally get a new rear bumper, gives me more incentive to leave them this way :).

I wouldn't assume that. Tinted tail lights are illegal regardless of if you pass inspection with them or not, so if you get rear-ended they can deem you at fault for the accident due to tampering with the safety warning devices, or whatever the technical term for your tail lights and turn signals/etc are called.

yeah, and you probably wont get bothered about them until someone hits you from behind and claims that the tint made it difficult to see your brake lights. At that point, its not a matter of if they allow light through, its a matter of that they're illegal and shouldn't be tinted. If you're gonna run tinted lenses, I wouldn't leave them in any condition that would give someone a reason to blame you for the accident. I've driven behind people that have sprayed VHT on their lenses and didn't do anything beyond that, it's very difficult to see the brake lights. If you polish them, they will have almost the same light output as they are stock, just with the appearance of a darker lens.

my point is, either way you're screwed if someone rear ends you and tries blame it on your brake lights, so the best way you can avoid that, is to do everything in your ability to make them as visible as possible and prevent any distortion in the light output.

Not to mention, you drove around all last year with a set I did for you, which were polished to all hell, which is probably a big reason as to why you were never bothered about them.

Plus, why would you take all the time to make sure your paint shines real nice and is real smooth, then just completely ignore your tail lights?

Check out Youtube. There are plenty of videos on there about detailing your car. I'm far from good at it, but if you don't know where to start, it should give you a decent idea of what direction to head in.

I know how to detail the car, but to polish the tail lenses, I have no idea on that. I need to do a full detail soon though lol.
