Just got the Mustang back from the paint shop after brand new black paint. Had my car back just two days and this is what I find! Scratches all over the door and the lock pulled out a little.

do you have an alarm? the little led on the dash will scare off most thiefs. I can also show you an easy way to convert your cig lighter into a starter kill. Don't want anyone driving it? just pop out the lighter and you can take it with you to ensur that it will not start or even just leave it in the socket as though nothing was out of place.

The car has an aftermarket Python Alarm system that I have no way of turning on I dont have a key fob. I discovered the alarm system when I disconnected my battery to do something and when i reconnected it I could not start the car and the flasher lights just started blinking and my little LED light in the dash started blinking with no engine start when i turned the key. I had to call Car Toys and tell them the model of the Python Alarm System and they gave me the reset sequence to reset the alarm (there is a little button to push). I have to do that every time I disconnect the battery now. I'm not sure if I just need to get a key fob. I went down to the store and bought a steering wheel club until I decide what I'm going to do.

yes if you get a remote it sounds like it would work. The battery thing is normal for alarms to protect them from the battery being disconnected and bypassing the alarm. if you got the model number of the alarm(written on the top of it) I can probably find you the remotes or give a link to them on ebay. Takes 2 secs to program them, its super easy if you already know how to disarm it with teh button.

The Alarm is a "Python System 70"

Part #: S401812039

Does anyone know anything about this alarm system? Is it any good? What does it have as features? Stuff like that...

python/dei is a good brand and if it is installed correctly it will last for years. The options of the alarm will depend on what they hooked up really. You could easily go into a local car audio shop and buy a remote for it and they would probably program it and everything and you would have fully functioning alarm if it is all working.

I just called my Car Toys and they don't carry any Key fobs for Python Alarm Systems. I've been looking online and no luck finding a key fob for a System 70 Python Alarm Sytem. Also checked out Ebay and no luck there... the search continues

python/viper/sidewinder are all the same thing (DEI) just under different names so they can sell to different places. You should be able to use a remote from any of those compatable units. can you see the "brain" up under the dash? If you can try and find the antenna which will either be a wire that is a little thicker then all the others, 6 ft long and probably going up towards the windshield or its gonna be a thinner wire that is probably 6 inches long. Finding this out will help alot in figure out if you need an old or new style remote.

I tried looking for the Antenna Wire. Is this the spot you are talking about? I marked it in Red. WOW! look at all these wires.

Here is where the LED light is located. It does flash when i disconnect/reconnect the battery and try to start the engine. So that tells me the light is hooked up.

not the best install but not the worst either. Ideally you should not be able to see or find any of the wiring for the alarm and I prefer solder connections over crimp but it should do for now.

no that is some of the factory wiring that you have circled. Look at pic #2. See the white hrns with all the wires comming out? That single black wire that is not in the hrns is the ant and it shows that it is an older alarm with the old remotes. The easy way to tell new/old is that the older remotes had a red led.

Now as I said I am %95 sure that the sidewinder/viper/python remotes are all interchangable as long as they are in the same series and programming these is really really easy. All you need to do is turn the key on, push the little black button you use to disarm the alarm and then while holding it push button #1 on the remote. I would be really suprised if a local shop would not be willing to at least try in order to sell a remote so I would not bother calling but go in and talk to them. Make sure they are a DEI retailer and just let them know you need the old(red led remote) with two buttons on it.

I have access to a 12v industry forum that the only people allowed in it have to show they work in the industry. I will put a post up there and see how long it takes to dig one up but there should be one there somewhere. It might take me a few days to locate it, and then to get it so until then I would still try your local shops to see if they could help.
