So I'm thinking I want to sound proof my car. I want to start off with the doors, as i have my door panel off to fix the window and figured its as good of time as any. Dynamat is hella expensive, I was thinking either fatmat or raamat? I want a zero odor mat. What are your guys thoughts? Butyl with aluminum backing seems the way to go. I'm leaning towards fatmat. The next question is go with fatmat, rattletrap or megamat? What do you guys think?

I have been installing on and off for almost 15 yrs and had my hands on almost all of them. The only product I will currently use in my car is second skin. I prefer damplifier pro but it is thick and heavy, the regular is still better then extreme and cheaper as well.

Duplicolor has that quick drying rubberized undercoating thats good for sound deadening, if you are worried about budget or weight. I dont know about sound, but it works great for heat. Just a little tid bit of info...

I put fatmat in my trunk, on my doors, and under/on my RSD...it had a bit of an odor for a while, but it went away.

Honestly...it didn't really seem to make a huge difference, but it would probably been better if I coated my entire floorpan.

My car is undercoated and it makes a difference. I LOVE Love love dynomat and I can tell the difference. Next i'm going to line my hood with something, I haven't decided what yet though. The Tial BOV is going to be uber loud this summer so I need something to offset the extra noise.

If you were to hold the second skin and any other material you would see the difference. The foil is thicker and stretches into almost any crevice with out ripping. I think I have a couple of pieces left if anyone was curious enough to want a sample. I have met the owner and have his email and would try to set up a group buy if we have a few that are interested.

I haven't used second skin yet. The last system and interior I did was in a 55 Suburban (Converted to Delivery), we did the math and we used 180lbs of DM, lol.
