sounds like my steering rack is falling apart!

so when i turn my wheel from the center point to the right a bit it makes this clunking noise that sounds almost like the steering rack....seems ot be getting worse, more and more clunking as I turn when im going slow.

Anyone else ever have this happen?

I dont think it can be anything else making the noises its making...

Check if there is any play in the tie rod end. Usually if rack goes bad, it will make noise continuously.

Hmm, what exactly would I be looking for.

I tried to check but I really dont know what to expect.

They seem "ok"

Get under the car, grab the tie rod end, and push/pull it. There should be no play.

I had a bad grinding clunking noise coming from my rear end when I would turn, I thought it was the steering rack but it turned out I had a VERY blown front strut that was making all the noise. If its not the rack I would take a look at your struts.

hmm, I would hope not since my front struts are brand new

Yea then its probably not that, but you never know. You would feel it on the road though.

I have the exact same problem, and it's been getting steadily worse.
