speedo and odemeter are being crazy

so like 2 weeks ago my speedo stop working while going down the highway it did not work for the rest of the day. the next day when i got into my car it started working again it worked properly for 2 weeks. then 3 days ago i was going 40 and it started jumping all over the place then quit working it has not worked for three days now and the odemeter is not working either i also noticed the cruise control is not working either they broke at the same time, so i was hoping it was a fuse or something but probably not, any help is appreciated , thanks

check out the speed sensor in the tranmission. also check out the gear attached to the sensor and make sure its not damaged

yeah, is it throwing a light as well? the odometer / tach are driven off the sensor on the trans. google it, and you will find exactly what and where to look for it. its stupidly easy to check, one bolt and it pulls right out, just make sure the gear is not tore up, if it is, steeda, american muscle, and a ton of other places have them ready to order.

for the speedo, it is computer-controlled. if its throwing a light it may point you at the part that is going (or is) bad. if i remember right, the speedo is driven off the coils. so you might check the fuse box inside the car and the one in the engine bay to see if any are blown. if not then your going to have to look around for more info, or take it in to a shop, im really not to hot when it comes with electronics, ill pay for that work :)

well its not throwing a light and the tach still works i had my speedo re calibrated when i switched the gears maybe something got messed up but it did work for about a year but thanks ill see if i can get that thing out
