Hey, just looking for some insite
I have been having a sleedo issue as of late. It works but it is erratic. If i smack the dash it will pop up and be correct. At high speeds it will be ok but then say im doing 70mph it will jump to 100 or so smack the dash again and boom its ok.

Used an obd reader to check speed via the senser and referenced that with gps and they closely matched. Tells me VSS is likely ok. Gear problem? I replaced the odometer gears as they failed finally.

Any thoughts would be helpful as i trouble shoot this

Thanks

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

Your stepper motor that runs the needle is junk. I bought a cluster on eBay and stole it out from the back. Working good so far. Cobra cluster may be a little tougher to find, 160? or same as gt 150?

if you can still fix it with technical taps then its not really broken. It also tells me that there is probably a connection problem somewhere. Could be inside the motor or it could just be the connection to the gauges as I have seen the copper traces lift at the harness connection.
