I need help with my speedo calibration, (It reads like 120-mph in 3rd / 2000 rpms...lol) so i searched the old threads and it says that i should take a picture of where the needles were sitting at idol prior to removing them, replace your gauge cluster... start your car and let it idol and put the needle on where it should be, according to your pics. The problem is i got this car and the speedo didn't work so there was no way of taking the before pic. Does anyone know of a way where i can set the needles in the right place. I know some of you are asking if you got a new gauge cluster why did you pull the needles, but thats how it came from my buddy that happened to have an extra. any help would be great

If someone put some white face gauges in they really went crazy and thought they were a rocket or something. If you don't then it could be because you have a set of gears in the rear end. If both those are a negative it could be a bad brass spring inside the gauge cluster.

Take it to Ford, that would be the easiest thing to do, they can set the needles nearly 100% correct. Yea, you're going to pay for it, but it will be worth the headache saving.

Damn you aren't fearing the Gear. If at a dead stop there still jumpy it sounds like the brass coil or spring as i called it earlier is bad. You do need a different gear though for those 4.33's
