speedshop gear install prices

not sure if this is the right place but it seemed like the best place to post it. sorry if its not and may an admin please move it to the correct spot if needed

i want to change out my stock gears for 410's maybe 430's but i am aware its very difficult for someone on my skill level to do.

i asked a local speed shop, mustang magic, to be exact, and they said they will do the install for 400bucks.

the gears only cost 160 themselves, and well paying almost triple to get them installs almost seems worthless to me

how many of you guys have had your gears installed at a shop and how much did they charge?? does 400 for the install sound right or too pricey??

400 sounds typical. thats what a few shops here in DFW quoted me.

Around Cincinnati it ranges about 300.00 plus what ever parts are needed.

yup, That's about what I spent.. I think mine was $300 and I had already bought everything else for them (shims/fluids/gears)
