i bought them last summer and they didnt lower my 96 enough. i got the sway bars and strut tower brace and ended up cutting the steeda springs 1 full coil and holy shiiit! they were stiff! they were pretty stiff when i put them in from the beginning and after cutting a coil they had to go, lol! i ended up just cutting my stock springs 2 full coils and actually am very happy with the ride quality.

I had Steeda Sport springs at first too, the car didn't really look lowered with them. Advertised drop 1-1.25", just not enough for these cars IMO. Had them for a couple years and swapped them out for something lower.

How do you properly cut the springs?
tons of ways to cut springs, lol! no real science to it just stay away from torching them! i just cut from the top in the front and bottom in the rear. you can pretty much assume each coil removed will give you an inch. 2 coils=2" give or take an 1/8"

i used a cut off wheel. dewalt cordless

they work but they don't drop enough, hence the reason you got them for a steal. it's better than stock thats for sure.

I thought you were supposed to cut them with a hand-saw to reduce the amount of heat the spring sees with will change its spring tension?

hand saw scott? if you have about 15 hrs to spend sitting there with a hands saw then by all means. maybe a hack saw, but a cut off wheel is just fine if ya have one.
