I raced one in my BONE stock 89 SHO. I was beating him by atleast a full car up till around 60-70ish then he raped the shit outta me. He was still pretty shocked that my pos taurus kept up with him for so long. His car was modded it atleast had a full exhaust.

Silly Ricers tricks are for kids :)

if you race him from a roll, he probably would brake boost so he can build boost before taking off. I would race him from a dig that will probably be the best chance. they are factory hi 13 - low 14 sec cars. if you unplug the waste gate you will get a shit load of boost. my buddy was test driving one and he ask the dealer if you could look at the motor and when the guy look away. he unplug the vacuum line that went to the wastegate. they dealer thought the car was fuck up when he drove it.

Local guy with a srt4 has been real hot about racing me. Not sure what all is going on with his other then it's not heavily modded, he still needs a tune to get passed stock boost. I have my FLSFC's, 3.73s, suspension, LT's, exhaust, etc. No motor mods other then it being well maintained and strong. I'm not up to date on these cars. Any help would be appreciated.

with my personal experience:

Stock SRT-4: 14.4 @ 89 MPH (my friends, so i know whats done to it)

my mustang: (check my mod list) 15.5 @ 89 MPH

so... i mean, 1.1 second is like, 1.5 cars??? (ish?) so, i dono. i dont race them skittles.. they are quick little fruits. lol

edit:

they only weigh something like 2900 lbs. or something like that... my car weighs 3666!!! :-(

WTF!!! One something is wrong with your car. And two, its pretty much impossible for a fwd car to run 14.4 at 89 mph unless you slam on the breaks at the end of the track and actually have a much faster car.

You would need like a 1.6 60' in a 14 sec. car to run that time.....(14.4 at 89 fwd) lmao

maybe you made a typo.

I dont know where your racing at...14.4 at 99 sounds like it would be right....but anyway 1.5 seconds should be like 15 cars dude...

usually 1 car is .1 for cars trapping like 100 mph...the faster you get, the bigger the gap.

So if you race a car that runs 14.0 from a dig to 100 mph in a 15.0 car he should pull about 10 cars I believe.

im not asking if i'm winning i'm asking what i'm getting into LOL

My car runs low 14's as it sits, maybe even high 13's now that I've done some things to it. It's a good car, i'm not racing anytime soon, but it will be fun to say the least.

ever watch NHRA on TV.. .. notice how they add 1 second to the qualifing times when they race at the Colorado track? :)

no typos...   thats what we run...

my friends fox runs 16.2...
new turbo cobalts run 14s...
srt 4s run 14s...
you have to remember that 6,200 feet above sea level is a MAJOR difference than tracks in florida and what not that are UNDER sea level. lol...

our track is LITTERALLY in the mountains...  "Thunder on the Mountain" is there... slogan .. thing....

<img src="http://media.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/content/img/photos/2008/07/11/436733524_t613.jpg">

thats our staging area...... on the side of a mountain. lol

heres a pic from the highway...

<img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/18/23521305_c8b554e366.jpg?v=0">

notice other mountains in the rear view mirror....lol...&nbsp; &nbsp;these are actually "The Foot Hills"&nbsp; but when your racing, it sure feels like a mountain! lol

but no worries... i knew someone was going to say something when i posted those times... not many people are used to high altitude, it happens on every forum when i post my times... :)

I have a 2005 SRT4 as my weekend car.

In stock form, it's a low 14, high 13 second car, depending on the driver. I don't consider myself a great driver, but I have raced my buddy's wrx and a awd dsm from a dig. Both got me by ~2 cars off the line, but I pulled them both in by the end of 2nd gear. That was only with a $80 wastegate at 15psi.

With ~$1000 worth of mods and a good driver, they are easily low 13, high 12 second cars...The best I've done on street tires with a few mods was 13.9 @ 107.

Trust me, all srt4 owners know their car is a neon. I know my car is a cheap dodge, honestly, the car is crap. However, the motor kicks ass and responds amazingly well to mods.

Ask his what his mods are, or just race him and see what happens...careful tho, you might be surprised....

guy i talked to said he has a stage 2 kit and tune (i dont really know what that all involves) but he runs low 13's

If it is the Mopar Stage 2 kit your talking about, my father put it in his PT Cruiser..

- Re-flashed PCM
- Mopar Cold Air Intake
- Increased WOT and part throttle boost.
- Waste gate control was retuned for better turbo response
- Boost hold feature during WOT shifts.
- Enhanced first gear boost schedule.
- Increased Rev Limit 6500 RPM from 6200 RPM.
- 682 CC Fuel Injectors
- Waste gate Actuator
- 3.0 Bar MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure)
- 3.0 bar TIP Sensor (Throttle Input Pressure)
- Turbo Intercooler Sprayer
- Dial-A-Boost Switch

i dont mind SRT4s at all, for what they are... i like them more than cobalts.... they look pretty agressive (for a neon anyways. lol) and they are pretty quick for a 4 banger.
