Hey guys I just registered for this forum, but have been leaking around here for years. Im not stumped so im looking for advice.

So I have been searching for a few days now, but haven't come up with much regarding my particular issue.

Just installed a new 331 short block. Major mods include Vortech v1 @10 PSI, Anderson B-41 cam, Track heat heads & intake, and #42 injectors.

Had the car tuned a few weeks back by Kurgan. During the final pull 3 bolts sheered causing the supercharger and alternator to shift which in turn blew the belts off the car.
I have since fixed the bracket and added more support. While making the fix I only removed the alternator, supercharger setup, and balancer.

I went to fire the car back up. It will fire and idle fine for about 30 seconds. Then it will begin to surge a couple times or just die without surging. After this happens the car will not fire back up for a few minutes.

The check engine light isnt on so my first move was to check for any vacuum leaks or anything unplugged but came up with nothing. Then i checked the fuel pressure gauge but its still showing 40psi. I noticed a small drip coming from
both
exhaust pipes. After further investigation it smells like raw fuel but there is no smoke coming from the exhaust when its running. The car is kept in a climate controlled garage so i can rule out that amount of condensation. Next i pulled the plugs. All 8 are black /fouled with what smells like raw wet fuel sitting on them. I ran out of time at this point.

Could anyone give me pointers on this issue? I want to turn down the fuel pressure but when it was tuned he had me set it at 40psi.

I thinking about replacing the 02 sensors, clean the maf and iac, but im not sure how much any of these could tell the computer to send that much fuel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as always.

since you have fuel in your vacuum line I would suspect the fuel pressure regulator.

btw welcome to site. are you in Ga? or NC?

Hey thanks for your reply. I actually live in Indianapolis.

Im a little confused by your answer though. I have yet to find any type of liquid in a vacuum line and I literaly checked every line i could access. Also the fuel pressure gauge in the fuel rail still shows 40psi. So how could I confirm its the pressure regulator?

Thanks again for the reply

I saw that line and assumed you had fuel dripping from the regulator and vacuum lines.
Stock pressure is 40 with the vacuum off the regulator.
Surging makes me think vacuum leak. Did you ck at the intake upper and lower gasket?

I did check the upper, but the lower is hard to see as you know. The car hasn't been driven. So I doubt either gasket would have been damaged. We did run the car at the dyno after everything shifted to see if it was drivable. It did in fact start are idle just fine then. I elected not to drive it home though.

When i get home Monday i will pull up upper intake just to check things out. I contacted Kurgan and he said to check out the maf and its wiring.
