Starting problem

Okay so here's something interesting. New starter, flywheel, clean backing plate and starter connectors. But when I hit the key and start it. It acts like the battery is almost dead. Slowly cranking, then after two painful revolutions it picks up and turns over like nothing doing. Shut the car off immediately and re-start it. Works fine. Like nothings wrong. Let it sit for an hour and back to the slow first couple of revolutions. What's the deal with that? Oh and if it matters its a duralast starter.

check the battery cables inside the insulation for corrosion and/or a loose connections.

Is this a cold weather issue? Cranking amps decrease as the battery ages. Maybe it's time for a replacement. As previously noted, corroded connections may also be the culprit.

I kinda like the battery idea. They get funky like that when on the outs.

Also like the idea to be sure the power cable connections are squeaky clean.

Just an update. It was the battery. Odd that the starter waited until I install a new starter and it crapped right out.
