Not a bad price if you cant diy. 100 bucks and hour pretty much. Have you "shopped around"?

My options are limited locally. I'm also considering the Blue Oval Industries kit that looks the same for about $50 less

Material choice is probably what matters most. If it's all the same grade of steel I'd say save the 50 bucks and buy blue oval

Yeah, the Steeda are 1.5x2" .083 steel and the Blue Oval are 1x2" 14 gauge steel. Probably just get the Steeda Raw set for $169

You'll have to paint either way so buying the raw and just spraying it after it's all welded up seems like a good idea to me

What types of shops should I be calling for install quotes? Muffler? General repair? Race? Fabricators?

Sometimes there are welding shops that strictly are a welding service for any application.

Not sure they'd have a lift though.
Possibly guess it would be a crap shoot. A friend of mine runs a mobile welding service, he welds on stuff in guys garages all the time. Might be something like that in your area also

I am willing to bet he does not like to do SFC's with out a lift. Laying on the floor with the sparks dancing down on you just isn't most peoples idea of a good time.

Make sure its a drive on lift as well.

He doesn't really mind as long as you've got cash haha. He crawled under my f150 and welded up my exhaust for me. All I had to do was support the truck how he felt comfortable and safe and went straight to work but I do understand what you're getting at

I have Steeda’s SFC’s and I am happy. A local speed shop did the install for me for $200. As others mentioned, you want a drive on lift so the suspension is nominally loaded as it would be on the ground.

What delling3 said. They should be installed with car resting on its tires, not on a lift with the car supported by pads under the rockers.

Yeah, not sure how you'd install with the car raised by the subframe anyways

For installation, do NOT just go to a "muffler guy." Welding an exhaust is not like welding on SFC's. I'd suggest calling a local speed shop for recommendations. Failing that, look for a body shop that does custom work (restorations, hot rods, etc.), and ask there.
