Steeda triax warranty?

I have the triax in my Mustang. Recently it felt like the shifter was a little "loose" while changing gears, I tried to remove the shift knob at home and the handle broke off with the threaded portion still stuck inside the knob.

I know I need to buy a new knob but does anyone know if Steeda will replace the handle?

It's a few years old and I honestly don't know if I have a receipt anymore

dunno, probably something you'd have to talk to Steeda bout. If you have to buy a new shifter though get an MGW, handle is guaranteed for life

I already emailed Steeda, let's see if they cover it, in the meantime I ordered a new handle anyway (and a new knob)

No way would I switch out a shifter that I love the feel of just because a $30 handle cracked like 2 years after I bought it

If you call them explain your story, tell them you posted your problem on here (or email link them) im sure they will do somthing, if a company treats their customers well for something like that im sure they will get noticed for it.

In all the shifters I have owned I have never cracked one like this, I really think it was just a defect in the mfg process

I've had hurst, pro 5./0 and triax and like the feel of the triax the best

If it was a track only car I would go 5.0 but for a regular driver the triax has a much better feel

Just got off the phone with Steeda, no hassle replacement!

I either fax them a reciept and they would replace it immediatly or just send them the broken handle and they will replace it

Since I don't have a reciept looks like I package up the bad one and send it off

Ok, now I'm thinking it's just me. Got the new handle in, picked up a brand new fancy leather/aluminum Ford shift knob, have had it in for about a week and this morning the shift knob cracked in half!

The leather portion completely separated from the aluminum base. Damnit, I liked the look of this knob too (and paid way too much for it)

do you have the grip of a longtime single-man or are you just slamming the hell outta your gears? I thought I had heard about someone else having the same problem with theirs but can't remember.

Honest answer, neither one. I really think I just had some bad luck with parts and got a couple bad ones.

i've had a tri-ax on my T5 and my tremec with no problems, however i replaced the handle on my first tri-ax with a pro-5.0 handle, but i still never had problems with my tri-ax.

I have both a pro 5.0 and triax handle, I prefer the triax one, the pro 5.0 positions everything too far forward

lol maybe its just bad luck!?

True enough, I do think it's just coincidence that the shift knob went right after replacing the handle

Worst part is the shift knob was a special order part, no warranty
