Ok, I have this question about how many turns should a stock mustang steering wheel should do with stock steering components.
I ask this becasue my car's steering wheel will only do one turn each side, from center it will only do one full turn to the right and again, from center, one full turn to the left unlike my father's Explorer, my Ranger and my T-Bird that do more than one turn each way.
Does anyone know anything about this kind of steering behavior?
It sure is harder to park in parallel and get out of tight places, but got used to it now after much practice.

it just locks, that's as far as it will turn... seems it has reach the limit it can turn. Luckly is enough to do normal driving.
Now, the car was bought like this so I don't what could the previous owner might have done to it.
Is it possible to limit the number of turns so the wider rims don't rub inside the wheel wells? (since it has the wider 03-04 Cobra rims)

it may have something to do with your power steering.

not saying its messed up, but like you said
they have altered it for the rims
which is exactly what i was thinking when i began reading the problem.

however
like matt said, why would they do that

beats me, not the brightest idea IMO, but oh well.
This thing is just like manouvering a truck and I've been driving a ranger for the past 8 years so not too bad, actually the ranger has a tighter turning radius than the stang. ha! irony

Any of you guys have rims this wide? Do you have problems with tires rubbing inside the wheel wells?
